Constitutional Amendments

Before the National Assembly went on recess on Thursday, July 25th, the Senate voted on 32 proposed constitutional amendments and the House of Representatives voted on 87.

The Senate vote was done electronically, but the House voted manually as there was a technical glitch. Here is how they voted on some of the amendments:

Apart from the information provided by Senator Babafemi Ojudu on the #ChildNotBride vote, details of how members voted on all the amendments are yet to be made public.

Nigerians have a right to know how their representatives voted on these critical issues and we should continue to demand for the records.

Nigerians need to keep vigilant watch on the constitutional amendment process, ask questions and put constant pressure on their representatives. This is the time to shine your eye!
