Following the 2014 abduction of the Chibok Girls, the Bring Back Our Girls movement developed a framework to document and reunite missing persons. Although it was submitted to the government that same year, it wasn’t implemented until 2018. Progress was made with a national framework created in 2019, but efforts have since stalled due to a lack of political will.
