Requirement

The Deputy E.D. Programs will be responsible for the following:

  1. Operations Planning & Management
  • Develop an operational plan which incorporates goals and objectives that work towards the strategic direction of the organisation.
  • Oversee the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the organisation to maintain and improve quality.
  • Draft policies for the approval of the Executive Director and the Board.
  • Oversee the planning, implementation and evaluation of the organisation’s programs and services.
  • Oversee the planning, implementation and execution of projects
  • Oversee the implementation and policy review of policies (HR, IT etc)
  1. Program Management
  • Provide overall team leadership to EiE staff in the implementation of their duties.
  • Execute project work plans and revise them as appropriate to meet changing needs.
  • Effectively apply EiE’s methodology and enforce project standards.
  • Design evaluative measures to track program effectiveness.
  • Oversee collection of performance data on programs and activities, for evaluation and strategic review and reporting purposes.
  • Minimise exposure to risks on projects.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the non-profit sector.
  • Prepare and present reports to the board and funders, as well as community stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with organisational coalition members.
  • Generate innovative project ideas and strategies related to EiE’s mission and goals.
  • Maintain official records, documents and internal/external communications as appropriate.
  • Perform the cost-benefit analysis to estimate the strengths and weaknesses of new projects.
  • Scrutinise and monitor the program budgets submitted by the Programs Associate and work closely with the Administrator.
  • Work with the Deputy ED, Media to develop and implement plans to engage the public through new and traditional media channels.

  1. Stakeholder Management
  • Work with community agencies, organisations and institutions as appropriate.
  • Engage stakeholders in advocacy to advance EiE’s mission and goals.
  • Manage relationships with partners.
  • Manage EiE’s volunteers.
  1. Communications {with Deputy ED, Media}
  • Strengthen and manage all aspects of internal and external agency communications.
  • Generate and publish annual reports and other external communications.
  • Generate presentations and reports.
  • Ensure relevant website content and regular website updates.
  • Manage regular organisational performance dashboard compilation and publication.
  1. Grants & Fundraising
  • Identify fundraising strategies that benefit and complement the mission and the vision of EiE.
  • Generate grants for the organisation.
  • Develop diverse funding streams and long-term plans to best support the mission and goals of the organisation.
  • Cultivate relationships with donors.
  • Supervise reporting to funders on the status of projects and the appropriation and use of funds.
  • Oversee fundraising efforts including sponsorship, donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, grants, special events, etc.
  • Develop collaborative projects/partnerships.
  1. Monitoring, Reporting & Evaluation
  • Responsible for carrying out an internal assessment of the status and direction of programs, documenting the key achievements, challenges, impact and recommendations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports highlighting the objectives and achievements of the Programs Unit.
  • Continuously monitor the success rate of programs/project activities against the plans, executions and engagement.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with experience and passion for content strategy, blogging, governance, and politics.

Requirement

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field or at least 8-10 years of relevant experience.

  • High comfort level with traditional and new media platforms – Newspaper, TV, Radio, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube etc.

  • Apt knowledge and interest in governance and politics

The Deputy E.D. Media will be responsible for the following:

  • Manage EiE’s presence on social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and similar community sites.

  • Create and maintain a media editorial calendar and posting schedule.

  • Display in-depth knowledge and understanding of Social Media platforms, their respective participants (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest etc.) and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios.

  • Monitor trends regarding issues of interest to EiE.

  • Validate every content and material used by EiE.

  • Innovate alternative channels to disseminate EiE’s message and showcase its work.

  • Develop content for the various media channels (TV, press, internet etc.) to maximize EiE’s objectives and to engage citizens.

  • Design campaigns to engage and increase followership on all media platform.

  • Locate and engage advocates and influencers within the community (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram etc.) to foster dialogue.

  • Communicate briefs to 3rd parties.

  • Manage EiE’s relationship with traditional media partners – radio and TV stations.

  • Communicate with media partners in a consistent, informed and unbiased voice.

  • Manage EiE’s relationship with new media partners – digital marketers, influencers etc.

  • Manage EiE’s relationship with online media partners – Ynaija, Premium Times, Bella Naija etc.

  • Build strategic relationships with local, regional and international media outlets.

  • Serve as EiE’s contact person for appearances, printing, publishing, and all digital content.

  • Provide a monthly report on EiE’s media presence, trends, opportunities and challenges.

The HR Lead will be responsible for the following:

Recruitment and Retention

  • Ensure EiE is one of the most desirable places to work in the civic sector space.
  • Maintain and regularly update recruitment databases of prospective candidates for all positions.
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process of new hires.
  • Ensure cordial and healthy coworking relationships among all units.
  • Oversee staff engagement at all levels (employee orientation and on-boarding).
  • Investigate and manage employee grievance procedures.
  • Regularly review staff salaries and make recommendations for promotions/ upgrades in consultation with Unit Leads.

Policies and Guidelines

  • Conduct continuous review and study of all human resources processes, policies, programs, and practices to keep management informed of new developments.
  • Develop and implement a performance management process and policy.
  • Develop training programs that align with the company’s strategy.
  • Review of standard operating procedures (SOPs), KPIs and policies to verify compliance or otherwise.
  • Manage the implementation of EiE’s Working From Home (WFH) Policy.

Administration

  • Develop and monitor the annual budget that includes Human Resources services, special events, birthday celebrations, etc.
  • Provide directional leadership in talent optimization and organizational effectiveness.
  • Liaise with the Finance Lead to ensure prompt payment of salaries and other statutory payments.
  • Ensure all HR records and employee records are maintained properly and up to date.
    Conduct exit interviews for employees leaving the company.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of employee-relation functions inclusive of employee absences and vacations/leave.
  • Plan and execute periodic team bonding activities.

  • Seek contracts and partnerships and spearhead the development of proposals.

  • Respond to all questions asked on EiE’s social media platforms 
  • All EiE owned/organised events must be live-tweeted.
  • Increase followership on all social media platforms such as Twitter, blog etc. by at least 15% quarterly.
  • Ensure EiE’s infographics is received and published in the appropriate newspaper.
  • Ensure the weekly Newsletter broadcast is done.
  • Ensure the set expected date of delivery of the print materials is adhered to.
  • 0% design and content error on print materials.
  • Prepare and submit weekly summary of analytics of all social media engagement to the management.
  • Assist in planning and organising the annual Social Media Week.
  • Ability to pay attention to fine details.
  • Understand how to respond to trolls, negative comments.

The Creative Associate will be responsible for the following:

  • Conceptualize and design all visual material for EiE Nigeria, including logos, e-flyers, brochures, infographics, website images, charts, posters, reports, newsletter templates, promotional materials, invitation cards etc. for use in new and print media.
  • Prepare layouts, designs, artwork and formats for use in online broadcasts, publications and/or exhibition displays.
  • Creatively and spontaneously curate content – graphics, cartoons, short skits and/or videos on trending governance issues as required.
  • Maintain database and retrieval system of all designs and references used in the creation of published materials.
  • Design graphics to precise requirements and brief.
  • Maintain a cohesive visual identity and implement branding guidelines.
  • Document best practices and update branding guidelines as needed.
  • Send weekly reports to the Creative Lead.
  • Ability to create a well-thought-out design for briefs, proposals or instructions whilst paying attention to minute details
