Meet Fabusola Gbenga Patricks, a Nigerian who leveraged the power of social media to raise funds to process supplementary fees, lights, and accommodation for his schooling abroad. His story started on Twitter with a post that went viral: “TWITTER PEOPLE HELP ME O! I just received 3 FULLY FUNDED Ph.D. scholarships abroad. I have invested all my Allawee into this and I have no more money to process supplementary fees, flights, and accommodation. Please, help me keep this dream alive.” He not only raised the funds, but he also showed accountability by always sharing the amount he got from each donation with his followers. He has now arrived in the United States to commence his studies. We wish him godspeed in his new quest.
