The Jersey City Medical Center, has announced Dr Ijeoma Akunyili, daughter of Late Dora Akunyili (Former Director General of NAFDAC) as its new Chief Medical Officer (CMO). It is said that this makes her the first Nigerian to become a CMO in the USA.
Dr Akunyili has previously served as the Chair of Emergency Medicine at Waterbury Hospital. Akunyili comes from a long line of excellence and has shown the same in her work.
