ONDO AND SOKOTO STATES PASS VIOLENCE AGAINST PERSONS PROHIBITION (VAPP) BILL

We are making progress! Ondo and Sokoto States have finally passed the Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Bill. This is a big step forward, as the VAPP Act ensures that survivors of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) are protected by law to get justice. We are excited that the governor of Ondo has assented to the Bill, and encourage the governor of Sokoto state to follow suit. We also encourage Borno, Gombe, Imo, Katsina, Kebbi, Kano, Niger, Taraba and Zamfara States to domesticate the VAPP Act swiftly. We congratulate everyone that made this possible!
