Simi Adeagbo was inducted into the Olympic Hall of Fame at the Winter Games – Beijing 2022. She is the FIRST African female winter olympian to receive this award.
Before her induction, Simi recently made history by becoming the first African to win the Europe Cup monobob race at the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) Women’s Monobob World Series in Winterberg, Germany.
According to her, “I’m incredibly honoured to be an inductee into Olympians for Life winter games. Through sheer grit and talent, I have transcended every obstacle in my path. From the foothills of Ekiti, Nigeria to the world’s grandest stages of sport, I have overcome defeat, injury, bigotry, bias, and every naysayer in between.”
Congratulations on this historic feat!
