Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian striker who made headlines in Italy as the highest goal scorer of the Serie A (Italian league), won the Confederation of African Football (CAF) African Player of the Year for the first time, while his compatriot, Asisat Oshoala was awarded the CAF Women’s Player of the Year for the sixth time.
Nigeria’s Chiamaka Nnadozie also won the Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year Award.
At the CAF Awards ceremony in Morocco, the Super Falcons were also voted as the Best Women’s National Team of the Year.
