We Are All We Have!!

Dear Friend! As we mark the global 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, which runs between the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (November 25th) and International Human Rights Day (December 10th), we must not forget that Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) is a silent pandemic in Nigeria. Stigmatisation and Victim-blaming have stifled generations of girls and women. Enough is enough!

MissingInNG: Putting Faces to the Numbers

Dear Friend, As a citizens-driven organisation, we understand the task ahead of us; one that is not only steeped in the quest for good governance and true democracy but also in doing our bit to fill gaps left to fate, by years of misadministration and selfish interests. It is rather disheartening that Africa’s most populous black […]

Climate Issues at COP26: Key Issues For Africa

[By Chukwumerije Okereke] The UN’s COP26, where critical decisions that will shape the future of climate governance will be made, is currently ongoing in Glasgow. As the continent least responsible for, and yet most vulnerable to climate change, African governments cannot afford to be complacent on the need for strong negotiating positions and astute diplomacy […]

We Stay Demanding!

Dear Active Citizen! It has been 162 days since the Nigerian government officially placed an indefinite ban on Twitter operations in Nigeria. Recall that on June 6th, two days after the ban, the Attorney-General & Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, directed that citizens who are caught still tweeting will be prosecuted; an order that had no constitutional grounds. The rather laughable irony is […]
