EiE NIGERIA PARTNERS WITH STORY STORY 2.0 TO SPARK CONVERSATIONS
ON LEADERSHIP THIS INDEPENDENCE DAY
As Nigeria marks 66 years of independence, Enough is Enough (EiE) Nigeria is partnering with Story Story 2.0: A Tale of Nigerian Politicians, a live theatre, comedy and music experience created by created by Timmy Sinclair, popularly known as Trikytee, a media personality and entertainment entrepreneur, to bring civic reflection, popular culture and entertainment together in a celebration of Nigeria and a conversation about the country Nigerians want to build.
The production will take place on October 1, 2026, Nigeria’s Independence Day, and uses humour, satire, storytelling and music to explore the realities of Nigerian politics and everyday life.
From familiar political characters and campaign promises to controversies, social issues and the everyday experiences of Nigerians, Story Story 2.0 brings the realities of the country to the stage in a way that encourages audiences to laugh, think, question and reflect.
“Story Story is about our reality,” said Timmy Sinclair, Producer of Story Story 2.0. “The things Nigerians experience every day – the politics, the promises, the characters, the frustrations and even the absurdity become stories that we can laugh about, but also think about. Having the show on Independence Day makes that conversation even more meaningful. It gives us a moment to reflect on where we are, where we want to go and the kind of country we want to build.”
The partnership creates a different kind of civic space, one where Nigerians, particularly young people, can encounter questions about leadership through the stories, humour and experiences that already shape how they understand their country. By joining forces with Story Story 2.0, EiE is taking conversations about citizenship and leadership beyond traditional civic spaces and into culture, entertainment and storytelling.
With the 2027 elections approaching, the questions Nigerians ask about leadership, accountability and the future of the country will become increasingly important. For EiE, creating opportunities for citizens to think about those questions, including outside traditional political spaces is part of building an active citizenry. Story Story 2.0 offers an opportunity to have that conversation through a language that is familiar, accessible and distinctly Nigerian: humour, satire, music and storytelling.
“Civic participation is not only about what happens on election day. It is also about the questions citizens ask, the standards they set for leadership and the conversations they have about the kind of country they want,” said Ufuoma Nnamdi-Udeh, Executive Director of Enough is Enough (EiE) Nigeria. “This partnership is authentic to our DNA, leveraging entertainment and popular culture to educate, engage and mobilise young Nigerians. Story Story gives us another creative way to enter that conversation, particularly with young Nigerians who engage with politics and public issues through culture, entertainment and digital platforms.”
The partnership will also extend the conversation beyond the October 1 experience, creating opportunities for the ideas, perspectives and conversations emerging around the production to reach wider audiences.
Story Story 2.0 is a non-partisan production and does not endorse any political party, candidate or politician. At its heart, it is a reflection of Nigeria as Nigerians experience it – a country where politics, leadership, hope, frustration and the possibility of something better are part of everyday conversation. This Independence Day, those stories take the stage.
