Meet Chidiebere Ibe, a 25-year-old medical student bringing diversity to medicine with black drawings. Chidiebere’s medical illustrations caught the attention of the world after he drew a black foetus inside the mother’s womb. The drawing, which has been shared across various social media platforms, has started a serious conversation on the exclusion of black people from medical literature.
According to him, “I made a deliberate action to constantly advocate that there be inclusion of black people in medical literature. If we start including black medical illustrations from now on, medical students in training would be used to these drawings.”
